    Going back for more slop

This one is fresh enough that my thoughts haven’t really changed. The animal abuse plot is tacky but it does mostly work. Still feels like a real movie like its predecessor so that’s like 6/34 or whatever Marvel is really batting a thousand huh?

I tell you they have not died, they live and breathe with you.

Each and every moment rings and resonates endlessly. Laura feels undeniably tangible like I’m right there with her watching helplessly, but then I’d be just like everyone else in her life. The most cathartic ending of all time and my favorite imagery Lynch has conceived. Monumental piece of art, if only for the little dance Laura does when she’s drunk with Bobby. I see you sacred all the same.

I tell you they have not died, their hands clasp yours and mine.

Much more in common with Barbarian and Hereditary than The Silence Of The Lambs and Cure.

Some cool ideas and imagery that pops keep this from being completely forgettable, though I fully checked out when a character begins to exposition dump everything at the end.

Side note, having the framed picture of Bill Clinton in SO MANY shots caused me to almost laugh out loud when a flashback has a framed picture of Richard Nixon show up.

Seen as part of Belcourt Midnights

A second watch really driving home how evil and uncomfortable I find this. It felt strange to watch this in a theater like this really wasn’t something we should all be experiencing together. Some things are just better left behind closed doors.

Shoutout the guy a couple rows down who was pumping his fist and smiling at his friend like a marvel movie after the incredible cut to credits.
