I’m not quite sure why movies like this work so well for me. Maybe it’s just my conditioning since childhood to adore verbose British insults. Having just watched Mary Poppins, I realize P.L. Travers was absolutely right about how Walt Disney would spoil her book. Kind of cool how Disney made a movie about why Disney movies kind of stink. Though I assume it’s not self aware of the fact.

I do love to be a contrarian, but I think this movie deserves a little more love. The pacing of the second half should have moved a faster. And the resolution felt a little cheesy. But it’s overall pretty great. Lots of movies worse than this make a billion dollars at the box office.
