I liked it. However, I have the same issues with this movie that I had with Parasite. It is a fun watch; hilarious at times. A good screenplay with good performances (mostly). But there are movies occupying the same  space being made in malayalam every year. Call me old fashioned; I still want a Palm D’or winner to be exceptional.

I agree that I went into this with a lot of expectations, and therefore, was disappointed. But that’s completely on me.

Also, MM gave me major Kim K vibes.

It is incomprehensible to me that a people who had to go through such atrocities of a genocide could be the perpetrators of another.

"Who among us keeps watch over this strange watchtower to warn the arrival of our new executioners? Are their faces really different from our own?"

It is definitely a fun theater watch. The superimposition of/allusions to real-world calamities and wars over petty gang wars fell completely flat and was even borderline cringe-worthy. An extra half-star for all the cop characters.
I totally believe Krishand to be a director who needs space to grow and experiment, even though, personally, this was a step down from Aavasavyooham.
