The only thing keeping this from a full 5 stars is Russel Crowe's singing. I'm not typically a fan of musicals but the songs in this lived up to the hype. I was hooked from the openingly song "look down"
Amazing perforances by Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway (wish there was more of her) and Sascha Baron Cohen. A sprinkling of revolution and this was about as perfect of a stage to film adaptation as I've ever seen
Man this was a visual feast of epic scale but the plot holes were just as epic and kinda killed some of the momentum for me

This is my first Lucio Fulci film and while I appreciate the attempt to film a haunted house movie during the day, it didn't really work for me. Niether did the acting. The best acting came from an audio recording describing the horrors visited upon the previous occupants, I could totally see it being used as a lead-in to an industrial rock song
