God damn this was freaky. Not overeliant on jump scares, they touch on the psychological element, but holy smokes is Cage amazing. The make-up was one thing, but he is tapping into this ulter-ego of being the least Nicholas Cage possible, but there was a touch of Joaquin’s Joker in him as he screams, possesses his way to an early Oscar performance in my eyes.

This is better than the IMDB rating it got. I thought they nailed the tone. They could have gone ultra CGI with the semi mythical creatures of the originals, but this is a very human story.
Cast was nailed, Rachel Zegler stole my heart, and Viola Davis just did Viola Davis tings.
Nailed the origins of some of the originals’ favourite tenets, JabberyJays, Katniss, etc.
The one thing that slightly annoyed me was one minute he was about to run off with the love of his life and then he is evil Snow in the space of 10 seconds.
