    A Slasher Movie Retrospective

Say goodbye to gothic castles and phantom perpetrators- and say hello to suburban killers and mansions of mania, as Hammer Productions dips its toes into mind bending terror.

Fear, paranoia and psychological tension culminate in this early 60’s murder mystery. Actually a question you should be asking, if Nightmare is a mystery movie- then how does this film belong in my slasher retrospective?

    Well this small british…

    A Slasher Movie Retrospective

Deck the halls with bowls and bodies as Art the Clown celebrates his own twisted form of holiday spirit.

Terrifier 3 opens with one of the greatest segments in slasher history. A sequence that is so confronting it makes us wince as we witness the boundless malignancy of Art the Clown. More specifically referring to a scene where a whole family becomes prey to this predator, in a…

    Species II

    ★★★

An astronaut gets infected with an alien virus, goes ape-sh** and wants to mate with every woman on earth. This movie is seedy, gorey and gruesome.

Heard these movies were pretty stock, cardboard alien knock offs. Today I Just thought I’d take the dust off my Species 2 DVD, and was pleasantly surprised.

A humerous blend of PlayStation 2 cgi and well done special effects gore. I mean some of these scenes are just nasty. Micheal Madsen returns as the cool hero enforcer. And Natasha Henstridge pulls an Arnie in T2 and is now here to help the military.

    Not bad at all

    Night of the Creeps

    ★★★½

Night of The Creeps is a chimera 80s movie, a horror conjunction of everything that came before it, aliens, zombies, slasher killers.

Fred Deckker managed to jam everything into this 86 romp and blend it into a frat movie. It’s moulded by every eighties trope we actually want to see. A love note to Ed Woods Plan 9, but fortified by a great script and special effects expertise.

A fitting movie to play on a Friday night with beer and pizza.
