Despite being filmed in rural Arkansas, somewhere you would never assume much to be happening, Mud never fails to keep one captivated the entire time. The landscape is excellently displayed through the cinematography and the music fits the scenery perfectly. Let me begin by saying I do not consider 3 1/3 stars bad by any means. I rank this movie as above average for its superb cinematography and the amazing energy displayed by the actors.
