…what the hell? To discuss the morality of this film definitely takes a lot of nuance and I’m not sure I can phrase my thoughts correctly but I’ll give it my best go.

This film treats Lucas as a victim (as it should) but almost negates any sympathy for any of the other characters in the way it goes about this.  I’ve seen comments under this film saying “I have never hated a child more than Klara”. It makes me…

This film has an amazing audio and visual style and when accompanied with an intriguing premise I was sure I’d like this. Technically it is brilliant and a great art house film but this film ended up being hard work for me. The only reason I finished it was because its for my Film Studies class.

I’ve been wanting to watch the films of Wong Kar-Wai for ages but never been able to find them! Super happy to be finally watching this.

Takeshi Kaneshiro is so damn charismatic, his performance is absolutely captivating. The soundtrack associated with Faye is so amazing, I mean come California Dreamin’ AND Dreams?? For me personally Dreams will always be associated with Derry Girls but Chungking Express will be a close second.

Wong Kar-Wai is definitely becoming one of my favourite filmmakers of all time.
