The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 1974
There was no plot, no stakes, no allure & no grandeur. I suppose this movie was revolutionary for the 70s but as a modern audience member, I was not impressed. Perhaps if the movie did a better job of building a relationship between the characters and the audience or even leaned into the gore a bit more, I’d be more inclined to appreciate the media, but, for me, it was lackluster & underwhelming at best and a complete & utter waste of time at worst. I will say, bonus points for the leading lady, she’s so iconic & carried the entire film on her back #theoriginalscream.
