Poor Things 2023
The shots and the distorted focus scenes and the coloring in this movie was beautiful. The story didn’t sell it for me. The concept of a grown woman playing a child — but particularly one who becomes obsessed w sex — just didn’t sit right with me. Additionally, since Bella’s whole thing was that she wanted to explore the world and all it had to offer— I was surprised that the thing she was most intrigued by was sex, especially since she didn’t seem to be experiencing romantic or intimate feelings.
