This is a retrospective film about life 20 years after The Matrix was made. Both for Neo and everyone else in the fictional universe and for Lana Wachowski, the crew, and the rest of us in the real world. We've all gotten older and have to live with our past.
If you are looking for another mind-bending movie, this will offer some fun meta commentary and clever prose that blurs the line between reality and fantasy. But don't look for a revolutionary story or a genre advancing film. That clearly isn't the point.
