In video games, there is something I call the player’s view paradox. First-person view, in theory, lets you truly walk in someone’s shoes and understand your hero’s character and the ways he feels, but in fact, it is a third-person view, making you truly grow accustomed to the person you play as. Why? Because you can observe the character closely. You get to see his emotions, the way he moves, reacts, or dresses.

Unfortunately, I feel this is the main…

Sunset Boulevard meets Cronenberg and The Neon Demon in a crazy gorefest, directed by Coralie Fargeat. Don’t be deceived, though. This movie is a force on its own, Fargeat created an instant cult classic and one of the best body horrors of this century, some might say one of the best ever. It seems that Fargeat doesn’t think twice if she takes one step too far and it’s brilliant. Insanity never stops. Everything is turned up to eleven; sound effects,…

Extremely authentic, simple and raw, but also really captivating. Customers beautifully represent a wide cross-section of society in a big city and in today's economy this film feels even more significant because there is no guarantee you won’t be the next person riding this bike, trying to make ends meet.

R-rated fairytale with a unique vibe that breaks illusions about the American dream.

Sean Baker is a powerhouse setting the tempo worthy of the Safdie brothers and Uncut Gems. Mikey Madison is a star here, but so are Karren Karagulian and Yura Borisov. It’s a beautiful and hilarious 21st-century parable with a rare, special energy and the best Baker film so far.

Well, this year’s version of Tar is even better.

It bears the marks of a true genius when it comes to directing. Stellar performances and tons of themes to analyze on top of that. Crime here serves only as an entry point to discuss subjects of guilt, life’s frustration, marriage or even „The Art vs Artist” conundrum.

Will definitely think about this movie for weeks.

If the last scene of any movie begins and you see Paul Mescal, then be prepared to be emotionally destroyed for at least a week.

Since Aftersun no ending has crushed me as much as this one.
