Still a bit uncomfortable with the idea of satirizing this period in this way but appreciate the ending and is a well made film

Watched it with my friend from Mexico City and both kinda agreed it didn’t seem super offensive to Mexico City since it felt like it could have been any area of the world with a gang violence stigma. Personally not a fan of musicals, and thought the redemption arc kinda fell flat, funding all the philanthropic activities with dirty money and it doesn’t seem like they really became a good person just were able to start life over as a new ultra-wealthy person. Thought Zoe did a good job though and the accent was understandable having her character not being originally from Mexico
