Each person in the family going through their own turmoil, but all of them coming together to make Olive’s dream a reality. It pulls on your heartstrings, but not in a bad way, y’know? It’s comforting knowing that we all go through things, and at the end of the day, we’re all just pretending to be normal.
Also, Paul Dano realizing he’s color blind and his first words in 9 months being “FUCKKKKK” is such a reasonable crash out.
Wow. Okay, I was not expecting this to be one of my favorite films of the year so far. This film handled topics like depression and addiction very well. Personally, I thought this was a solid sequel. I am already a sucker for music in films, and seeing the musical bits in the film just clicked for me. There were a couple songs that weren’t completely needed, but for the most part helped move the story forward while also just being visually interesting.
