somehow this movie makes the barren landscapes look as beautiful as the mountainous ones! all of tana’s encounters were full of so much heart (except for the creepy ones obvi) especially the first one with the lady at the diner when she talks about all the abandoned cats she cares for and showing empathy towards her customers over judgement like the man who kept giving her $100 bills because he knew he was gonna die :( this movie felt so therapeutic at times.

Other People 2016
a movie about cancer that actually makes me think about the consequences of having cancer. every scene gave me the perfect amount of discomfort in not knowing how the characters would react to what’s going on. all the little anecdotes in this felt so specific and real that you could not convince me that this isn’t based on a true story. like it would be impossible to make a movie cover for this that captures the emotions and complexity of it all. also, i think jesse plemons should play more characters who aren’t sociopaths because he was so good in this.

One Week 2008
i wasn’t planning on watching this until i read a reply on reddit, except the person forgot the title of the movie so instead they explained it as the movie “where pacey from dawson’s creek gets cancer, buys a motorcycle, and rides across canada … at one point he smokes a joint outside a hotel with gord downie.” and i’ll be damned if that’s not how they pitched the movie.
