  Jon Alpert has a keen eye for human tragedy. Dark beads of intangible suffering is woven through with golden threads of hope. This tapestry is an unreal sight into the art of survival. I am afraid of absorbing this reality. These people live within me and the lessons they have learned are valuable still.
