i don't think i have the lexical ability to represent everything i wanted to write for this review. does many, many things and excels at almost every one of them. took almost everything out of me to try to understand what was going on, but paid it off by being hilarious

feels beautifully like a blueprint for so many of the things we watch today. the originality of the stunts (and impossibility; how??), the surrealistically only-too-realism of the dream (also impossibility??) and squealing whenever our favourite detective does anything romantically cute. buster keaton: you're a masterpiece.
