Man!! I actually thought I could trust the judgment of those who recommended The Substance to me.
Whole thing felt insulting, spoon-feeding everything to the audience like we’re incapable of curiosity or imagination. It was brain rot exactly like doomscrolling on TikTok for two hours.
I understand her intended as satire and commentary on modern entertainment, it couldn’t have been more predictable from the get go. By the end I was exhausted.
