  Wonderfully romantic until she did everything wrong. Having been through this rodeo, turning her down was not the wrong decision. Maybe it’s a bitterness but he was taken advantage of and she never took accountability. Despite that, love(or in this case, premature love) remains above reason…

  The moral of the story seems to be to let those you love walk over you.

  The Lives of Others 2006

  I really just didn’t find myself emotionally invested in the story. Dreyman, said to be and described as an artist but you’re never shown him making art. The GDR is said to be in control but the oppression is never felt. 

  This movie could be more than half an hour shorter. Either that or create more intrigue. 

  It was cold and sterile stylistically but the content did not make up for it. Created an interesting documentarian atmosphere while missing the heart.

  “The worlds his oyster with an r in every month”

  “Pop the pennies off the eyelids of dead 
  Irishmen” (don’t really know what this one means but it sounds cool)
