  Enough fun to distract from the fact its kind of a mess. There's a lot of elements that don't really get the time they need to breathe, and the third act feels a little underwhelming in some ways. Despite that, the acting, direction, and tone are all just really great, so it kind of makes up for its shortcomings. Very fun, would definitely recommend if you're just looking for a fun time in a theater.

  Had the opportunity to see it in a theater for Ghibli Fest 2024, and I enjoyed it even more than I did when I first saw it. This movie is just filled with joy and beauty for its entire runtime, I was probably smiling for a majority of the movie.
