Yes its corny and completely ridiculous (why are the karate kids so popular at school), but this movie is a product of its time in the best way. I grew up on movies like this so nostalgia probably plays a strong factor but idc. Great soundtrack and sound editing, great pacing, good performances and that ending is so unbelievably iconic

I'm sorry but I really could not get into this movie. Just dragged and dragged and dragged with no end in sight. The first act is actually very solid, the murders are very creepy and done pretty well, but the second and third act have no direction and wander from point to point with no real conviction. Especially the third act, they start jumping years at a time and exposition dumping everything, as if they forgot to write an ending. Acting was actually pretty solid, but direction was so bad that good performances were overlooked
