Breaking the Waves 1996
Reaching the 1001st film on this list I though it would be best to give more of my thoughts on what I view.Although not as bleak as dancer in the dark this is genuinely tough at times to view,very few films have reached this level of uncomfortability but there is a lot to think about the themes it has of faithfulness and god.
Emily Watson gives a great performance and that single look she gives towards the camera near the beginning really caught me off guard only making me feel more distressed. A tough watch but one with an ending that feels more hopeful than most.
