yes, the concept is nothing new, we’ve probably seen about 4 iterations of it in the past 3 years, however, the little things that opus does to differentiate itself work. the lighting, the colour and shot composition, the cameos, the acting. the sound !! the dream and nile rodger’s music in this is incredible. i thoroughly enjoyed it.

3-Iron 2004
i think as i get older and begin to watch a wider range of films, my understanding and appreciation of cinema really evolves. this film is in no ways conventional, and this is what makes it so special. was such a beautiful film, so abstract in its method of storytelling that i couldn’t help but be drawn in. having such a sweet love story underscored by themes of abuse, corruption and theft is not anything new nowadays, but this truly is like nothing i’ve seen before.
