I went in very skeptical but by this point I’ve heard enough good things that I gave it a chance. The filmmaking here has applauded, it’s ambitious in visuals and choreography. Shot well and directed well, those two things alone make it worth while. I won’t sit here and lie, I don’t like the music and my goodness it’s too long. It’s not groundbreaking in its music biopic story and the struggles the character goes through but you do get to know and like Robbie. All in all a better film than maybe it had any right to be.

This movie was sure something. Honestly had a pretty good time for the first two Acts of the film. Robert Pattinson as always was so fun, chewed up the screen. Steven Yuen was good too, though underutilized. The third act however was really chaotic and all over the place. The ending was tonally jarring and ended in a way I don’t love. Overall I lean positive here but not sure I would recommend it to a lot of people.

I had fun with this! It was entertaining and honestly a pretty cool sci-fi premise. It’s a bit cheesy sure but never bad. Miles and Anya had fun with their roles and delivered. This is one of those mid budget films that would have been fun to see in a theater and not at home streaming. Derrickson remains a director that doesn’t disappoint. Bonus points for a Reznor/Ross score as well.

I love Kevin Costner… truly, but this was really hard to watch. With a runtime of three hours this movie offers very little. His character and storyline may be the only one interesting and yet it feels like the one we spend the least amount of time with. There are easily 3 or 4 other stories being told around Costner’s film and none of them are interesting. The settings are no doubt beautiful but everything is shot digitally and so…
