Open any flick with Maggot Brain and you’ve got me…
The ever charming Ayo and entertaining John Malkovich were electric whenever they shared a scene. The film pulled me in immediately with excellent casting, interesting premise and killer (seriously) soundtrack. Unfortunately, it fell short in its message and theme. There were scenes that started to dive in and others that outright said it (The Tragedy of Billie) but I never feel like the film ever gets to the point. There are a lot of interpretations. Which may be the point? What the fuck do I know.

Felt. I related to both characters so deeply. I loved the slow reveal of the depth of emotion that David felt. That midpoint reveal made the ending feel like a sucker punch.

Speed Kills 2018
I watched this movie in 2020 when I got too high and needed to chill out. I could not stop laughing. I’ve told all of my friends to watch it. I came into film school telling every single person I met to watch it. It just brings me joy. It’s so fucking bad.

The Florida Project 2017
I felt every scene. Willem Dafoe can do it all. The baby sobbing at the end killed me.
