Don’t think I have ever nerded out so bad over a film. Loved following the translation process of Heptapod and how well they portrayed how actual human language translation would apply if we were to view a newly discovered language isolate. Loved the analysis of the Sapir-Whorf linguistic relativity theory and applied the film portrayal to previous knowledge on the topic, thinking about how perception of time, space and direction, as well as general culture changes when you view it…
