  First marathi film I've watched with any real attention. It's the slice-of-life subgenre superimposing itself on pre-independence rural life and all at once it felt very familiar yet utterly alien.

  Hit all the classic village beats: inter-village love politics, the village idiot, a wise village elder. The imagery was solid, but honestly the shallowness of the portrayal(s) and the insincerity of the editing made it fall short for me. almost like it wanted to say something profound but never quite committed to it. anyway, it's got me wanting to explore indian (parallel) cinema again
