On a pure craft level, this is pretty great, but you just can’t stop thinking that Spielberg should not have been the one to bring this story to screen.
On the other hand, Whoopi Goldberg gives an otherworldly performance. She then made three decades worth of mostly forgettable comedies and is now a panelist on The View. What a waste of talent.
