This dark and uncomfortable film was the perfect thing to watch in a mountain cabin during a snowstorm. I am normally not the biggest horror/thriller fan, but anchored by Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson’s jaw-dropping performances, The Lighthouse was truly enjoyable in ways I didn’t expect.

When I saw this film in theaters I cried, called my mom immediately after and told her it may be my favorite film of all time, and was certainly my favorite animated film. On rewatch it didn’t hit me quite as hard, I think the story didn’t feel quite as tight after I knew the whole arc.
