  Opus 2025

  The script just wasn't it. There may be a version of Opus which is actually decent but since it felt like we're seeing a first draft of the script in what is a rather tired genre (cultist horrors/thrillers), it was quite difficult to get invested in the characters and their actions.

  The everpresent obsolete genre tropes didn't help and "the cult of a celebrity" storyline needs a fresh take/twist at this point. The poster is pretty nice though and the three-finger payoff made me chuckle.

  Somehow, the majority of this year's "heavy hitters" or blockbusters, if I may, are absolute disasters and disappointments. It would have been one thing if the films were so bad that they become good but for the most part, they are just very boring.
