  I'm Still Here 2024

  Such a good-looking film that surprisingly starts out with really good vibes.  It showcases Salles’s ability to shed light on grave injustices while maintaining a sense of joy.  I always appreciate when filmmakers and actors just present situations as they are rather than trying to overdramatize for a movie.  Here, the situations speak for themselves and I find that much more powerful.

  That last scene is so good it almost restored my faith in humanity 🥹 This captures so many different feelings, people, and places with love and empathy, it’s kind of amazing how it all works together!  I only really knew Sarita Choudhury from The Green Knight and this role is so different but it shows that she’s always had that on-screen charisma.  The set design of her bedroom gave me nostalgia too lol
