  i didnt really enjoy the second act, it kind of felt sloppy and all over the place. maybe thats because it was juxtaposed against the extremely tight and captivating first and third acts. maurice ronet is amazing in this, but oh my god jeanne moreau devours every scene she is in. her gravitas is second to none. and then obviously there is the stellar score by miles davis which, in my opinion, is so good it overshadows the movie. and that second act is not worthy of the score at all

  leave these scumbags behind!!!

  finally got around to finishing millennium mambo last night, and its been on my mind all night and morning. even though i didn't get fully immersed in the movie the whole way through, there is some kind of magic to it that just stays with you, long after the tv has been turned off. like the characters, the colours, and the locations have all been physically imprinted on my brain.

  another review put it much better…

  no actually shoutout Criterion's 24/7 channel, because if it wasnt for that, this film would continue collecting dust in my watchlist. I'm not entirely sure why i never got around to watching it, but omg what a beautiful film, one that warms the soul
