Where the Night Stands Still 2025
Conceived by 6 people, who are employed as Philippine workers in Italy, during a brainstorming session on a Flixbus. It is basically an amateur movie, but the slow pace, the camera, and the story with overarching themes of personal sacrifice, hardship, and no sense of belonging of caretaker workers make it one of the strongest experiences during the whole Berlinale festival. I was honestly blown away and wish the movie and its crew all the best.

I am usually very uncomfortable when watching cringy behavior, but this is made with such humanity and finesse, that I really empathized with the super awkward main protagonist and her small adventure in Paris.

The role of the war journalist is however deconstructed.…
