  I think a lot of the hate around this movie is ignorant. addiction ruins lives. it does drive people to poverty. we are living in an (american) culture that is extremely defensive towards drugs. too busy promoting, selling, and using them to accept the fact that drugs are harmful. so, it creates thousands of two-to-one star reviews talking about how “disrespectful” it is for J.D.
