Why did I love this so much? Male witches? Sebastian Stan? Warren from Sky High? A young Chace Crawford dressed inexplicably in a cargo jacket for the majority of the film? Definitely in the category of so bad it’s good. I continue to be a hoe for paranormal ya.

Toby Wallace gets major points in my book for being able to pull off a rat tail and still convince me he’s charming enough to worm his way into the protagonist’s quaint suburban teenage life. The whole film had a warm and fuzzy quality I liked and that lent to its more endearing moments. The emotional ending worked for me because of Wallace, but I wished I cared more about Eliza Scalen’s (Milla’s) early demise.
