  Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022

  Really enjoyed how the concept of traversing different universes/times was in service of the characters and their self-discovery, not just "nerd stuff". A lot of other directors spent the last couple of decades trying to reinvent "Primer", but this movie finds much-needed emotional resonance that those lack.

  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 2022

  ★★½ Added

  It's difficult to reconcile the more nuanced storytelling of Wandavision (I'm being generous - that show still had issues), with its very simplistic conclusion here in Dr. Strange 2. "Woman goes evil because of her babies" is just dreck. The 'multiverse' shenanigans of this movie did not pay off, either.

  Such a fun, earnest encapsulation of the early 2000s millennial childhood. I had fallen off of Pixar completely, but this was awesome.
