I don’t even know what to say. I haven’t been genuinely disturbed by a film in so long. The sound design is insane and somehow made me want to physically look away from a sound if that’s possible.
I immediately want to rewatch this but I think I wait a couple months until I do.
Loved it!!!! Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley are so good and the makeup/visual fx are insane. All the men in the theater sounded traumatized when something bloody and gross would appear, especially the man sitting next to me who kept covering his face and saying "bro no why".
But the film is very surface-level in its exploration of beauty standards, industry, and ageism. Also, some of the editing choices made it seem like the film didn't trust that the audience…
honestly just glad a lot of people are walking away from this movie wanting to know more about joan baez
