All We Imagine as Light 2024
This movie has so many layers to unpack, with the main being the striking contrast in how one views “love”. Giving it a human face, giving it a religious voice, or giving it a legal boundary. Is it fate that we love the ones that come into our lives, or do we have agency in choosing who complements our lifestyle/personality and meets our intimate needs? A lot to think about.

There is something so familiar about seeing immigrants getting badly mistreated that jerks back the forgotten memories of the stupid sentences people have told me as a foreigner in a foreign country. “Do you have Marvel movies? What about a Starbucks?”.
