Emilia Pérez 2024
Creatively, this movie takes insanely bold swings which I respect. The story has a lot of potential and I love that the lead actress is actually trans. However, most songs feel like a parody, some moments are too off beat to enjoy in any capacity and the writing falls flat with little character development. The film could also be a bit shorter, as some scenes were dragged out for no reason and felt awkward. I think it would have greatly benefitted from more Mexican input.
