A very well executed portrayal of complicity, shown through the stark juxtaposition between a German nazi family making a beautiful home bordering Auschwitz. The film is full of tension without showing the atrocities within the walls of the camp - the director instead prefers subtle indications of what is going on, further underscoring the family's incredible ability to ignore their own atrocities.
