SJ Surya proves yet again he cab captivate the audience and dominate the screen. His performance, along with the background music in certain parts, are the only saving graces of the film. Otherwise, it's a complete snooze fest, with a predictable plot, screenplay, and clichéd scenes. Overall, it's a passable experience

Kotukaali is a cinematic masterpiece. It transported me to a village in the Madurai district, with every character uniquely crafted. Most of the actors are fresh faces, yet their performances are compelling and captivating. The film delves into the themes of patriarchal Indian society and the oppressive dominance of one individual over another. The ambient sounds of auto-rickshaws and motorbikes are surprisingly soothing in Dolby Atmos. I could easily write over 4,000 words about this film, but I'll stop here. Once again, I must say, it is a masterclass in filmmaking.

A fantastic storyline with impressive staging, but these elements are overshadowed by poor writing and a lack of clarity from the creators. Pasupathi's role adds a witty touch to the movie in this dark drama. GVP delivers a reasonable performance, though not exceptional. Parvathy's role is mostly that of a crybaby, while Malavika comes across as a shouting lady. Overall, it's a passable experience
