GoodFellas 1990
The absolute gold standard for mob films.
The best editing I’ve ever seen, not only in the way it explodes with every thrilling cut, but also in the way it tells a story through matches and contrasts.
The only thing I’d say holds it back is the lack of a comprehensive structure but that does nothing to hold it back from being endlessly enjoyable and, for me, the most honest and poignant film on the dangers of the gangster life.
