really beautiful imagery but i couldn’t connect with the characters enough to resonate with the themes of love and humanity it was trying to push. the sudden shifts in colour grading were intriguing - i’d be interested in reading an interpretation. it’s kind of amazing the extent to which this refuses to conform to expectations of drama or narrative lol.

Dune: Part Two 2024
most of this movie looked like a commercial for the equipment they were shooting it with, and the acting, dialogue, and characters are fairly bland. however, the combat scenes are very engaging and visually interesting. the monochromatic section on the Harkonnen planet was by far my favourite part.
overall very good watch if you don’t really give a fuck about the themes or characters in Dune, which I assume includes about 90% of the audience and the director
