finally watched this (I was saving it!) on Christmas Day with my mom and brother.  The lamb within a lamb sweater oh my god!!
Josh O’Connor is quickly becoming one of my favourite new actors.  And his understated opposite is a dream boat (salts your pasta, makes cheese, carries around the baby lamb he birthed like it’s his own child).  Others have already said so but it really does feel like if Jack and Ennis had the ending Jack dreamed of, in another time and place.

so much texture that it’s almost hard to chew- but I think that’s the point.

stunning performances, lush settings and genuine tenderness - but without the romanticized glow of call me by your name, which may put off some viewers.  Instead, we see dirt and guts, and narrative closure is forgone for a deeper, fever-dream-like step into the psyche of our protagonist- who wants for something more so badly that he may not ever get it.

this movie was kinda bad… I’m so tired of movies recently just going full absurdist instead of figuring out how to do/resolve a plot

also I decided kstew bothers me similarly as timothee chalamet does where neither of them can act very well, they just have a certain androgynous by virtue of skinny rodente white look that people have decided is fashionable for some reason

Katy o Brian was great however and I wish they had given her character more development and backstory

definitely was the correct choice when my mom and godmother asked me for a thriller.  jake’s acting was good- I liked how gentle and controlled his voice was, was a nice contrast to Hugh’s over the top yelling?? Didn’t even mind the blinking.  But it was a little bit copaganda / godaganda-y?  Paul Dano singing jingle bells Batman smells and speaking mostly in riddles 8 years before playing the Riddler was a funny kind of unintentional Easter egg also. Overall pretty solid for a kind of overdone type movie plot.
