  One of my favourite movies of all time. I like how this movie explores the impacts of industrialization on nature and the human spirit. It’s beautiful for starters, and I think the animation is quite excellent. The protagonist looks to take no sides, which I think makes for a realistic plot which paints no character in a absolute evil or good position. It’s very gory for a Studio Ghibli movie, there’s some dismembering, blood and such, but it’s done in a tasteful way and shows the range of work achieved by this studio.
