  I adore quiet movies like this one. If I did a double feature with this and “of an age” I think I’d burst. Both tender Australian queer love stories. The love the share and curiosity is beautiful.

  I really want to re-edit the end of this movie. Then it would be practically perfect. Why did they have to do that? It’s so unnecessary.

  Imaginary friend Kyle MacLachlan as Cary Grant is quite a time. A little annoying after a while tbh. This movie is the wedding banquet if it was camp. It’s a fine, nothing to write home about. The mom is the best character imo. The most nuanced. I clocked she was much younger than intended from the moment she comes on screen though. Turns out she’s 12 years younger than the guy who plays her son!! Ageism in casting never ceases to amaze me. The chemistry between the leads I think is good. Giles feels like a character Hugh Grant would play.
