Lots of different feelings about this one…
I did enjoy following the narrative because it leaves a lot up to interpretation, which is great. I found it a bit disturbing how it uses the depiction of an aging female body as a tool for horror, especially compared to the hyper-sexualised depiction of sue. It ends up feeling a bit gratuitous and reinforces the stigma around age being something to be scared of.Translated from by -

Cinematically beautiful and precise. Struggled w the violence and depiction of women. I thought all the characters lacked depth and the way they spoke added to just very surface level emotion- but I can kinda embrace that if I look at it as being in an alternate world where this is just the way people are- at least there’s consistency. Women, on the other hand are even further reduced to just violence and objectification 😴 borrrrring

Leave the World Behind 2023
Really enjoyed this- was an easy watch and v entertaining. Thought some of it was a bit Americanised, naff and too obvious, but get that they were tryna build tension. Loved how it ended :P
