The Substance had so much promise but unfortunately entirely fell flat on its face (no pun intended) in the final 1/3. Too many parts of the story were confused and went on unexplained (not that everything needs to be, but come onnnn). Felt a tad ‘baby’s first feminism’ à la Barbie.
