A stylish and intense Spanish film based on the true story of a writer who shot her lover dead in a busy swanky hotel over dinner in 1955. A little was lost in translation for me but the characters resonated and I still enjoyed this film on several levels.
I wanted to love this but I found the direction clumsy and felt the casting could have been better.
I recommend the BBC documentary Lee Miller:A Life on the Front Line. This is a more rounded piece that incorporates her Surrealist art background, which was barely even mentioned in the film.
