  Something I really love about Kelly Reichardt is the way she portrays relationships. Is it platonic? Is it something more? Does it matter? What matters is that people connect with each other. In none of her movies does she showcase that better than she does here.

  I was excited to see "First Cow" from the minute I learned about it, but COVID hit and I wasn't able to watch it until September on Amazon. Boy, was it worth the wait. What a beautiful exploration of human nature, of human's relationship with nature, and of human's relationships with each other.

  An emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, this movie features incredibly powerful performances and a beautifully nuanced screenplay. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time waiting to find out what happens next. After two and a half hours with these characters, I feel like I know them and will always remember them. Can’t wait to watch more of Mike Leigh’s films.

Following
